New Delhi, Nov 27: Rubbishing allegation that he had
taken monetary benefits as Delhi metro rail corporation
chairman, State BJP President Madan Lal Khurana today sent a
defamation notice to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler demanding
Rs one crore as compensation for accusing him.
Khurana, describing allegation as politically-motivated,
demanded an apology from Tytler within three days failing which
he threatened to drag him to court.
"Tytler has leveled a cheap and baseless allegation. It
is a bundle of lies," the BJP leader said at a press
conference here, a day after being accused of "misusing" his
position as DMRC chief in acquiring land belonging to Lohia
brothers for the rail project.
"Decisions in these matters had been taken by the metro
long before I took over as DMRC chairman," he said.
Khurana said the former Congress MP had chosen to level such allegations close to the assembly polls while realising that defeat of his party was "certain".

Khurana said during his 43-year-old political career
nobody had "dare to defile my clean image in such a manner".
Referring to his name figuring in Jain Hawala case when
he was Delhi Chief Minister in 1995, he said he immediately
quit the post on "moral grounds" despite being advised by Atal
Bihari Vajpayee and then RSS chief Rajju Bhaiya not to do so.
