New Delhi, Dec 11: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and demanded ban on the Manipur-based Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA). During a meeting with Advani, the Chief Minister said that KRA has been behind much of violence in the Karbi-Anglong district of Assam.

"Kuki Revolutionary Army based in Manipur has been behind much of violence in Karbi-Anglong district of Assam. You may like to consider banning this organisation," he said in a memorandum to Advani.

Referring to the Indo-Bhutan border, Gogoi said though Advani had ordered positioning of the special security bureau (SSB) at the border, "till now SSB have not taken up their position". He requested the Deputy Prime Minister to issue necessary directions for immediate positioning of SSB on the Indo-Bhutan border.
