Hyderabad, June 15: Congress MLA C K Babu alias Jayachandra was arrested today in connection with the murder of a youth, police said. Ravishanker Chowdhary (22), son of Y Rajeshwari, vice president of district Mahila Morcha, yesterday had a quarrel with Babu's nephew Sudeep over a petty issue in which the latter was injured, additional SP Chittor C Narsing Rao told.
When Babu, MLA from Chittor in Andhra Pradesh, came to know of the incident, he rushed to Chowdhary's house, picked up Ravishanker and took him to Kalipakam road, 20 kms from Chittor, he said.
Babu then allegedly poured petrol and torched him to death, Rao said.
Following a complaint in this connection, police registered a case and took the MLA into custody for interrogation, Rao added.
