Madikeri, Karnataka, Dec 24: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is ready to accept any challenge to improve the country's relationship with its neighbours. Stating that Bollywood could help improve relationship between countries, especially with Pakistan, through exchange of movies, the megastar said, at a press conference here yesterday, ''I am a proud Indian and I am ready to take up any challenge to improve the country's relationship with its neighbours.''
Amitabh, who is here for the shooting of ''Kyon Ho Gaya Na'', in which he plays the father of Aishwarya Rai, said though there could be some kind of a link between Bollywood and the underworld, the media had hyped and inadvertently played up the issue.
Admitting that television was proving to be a big challenge to the movies, he said, ''One has to face the challenge to overcome the hurdles by producing quality movies.''
Hoping that his movie 'Ranvir', with his son Abhishek would be a great success, Amitabh called upon movie fans not to watch the pirated movies as they posed a great threat to the economy and ate up the profits.
Amitabh, who is also the Unicef ambassador for children and education, said he would be in the forefront of efforts to eradicate dreaded diseases like polio. Bureau Report
