Islamabad, Feb 26: Less than a week after General Pervez Musharraf commissioned the nuclear capable Hatf-3 Ghaznavi missile, the Pakistan President put a new tank into the army's arsenal on Thursday even as he downplayed fears that Pakistan was engaged in a new arms race.
Musharraf commissioned the Al-Zarar tank in Taxila, 40 km northwest of capital Islamabad. The tank factory there was built with China's help.

On Saturday, Musharraf commissioned the Hatf-3 Ghaznavi missile, a 290 km range missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads within range of major targets in India.

"We do not want to involve ourselves in any arms race but we want to maintain deterrence level essential for our security," state-run Associated Press of Pakistan news agency quoted Musharraf as saying. Bureau Report
