Ayodhya, Aug 02: Sadhus today held a meeting in Digambar Akhara here to condole the death of former president of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Mahant Ram Chandra Paramhans Das and took a pledge that they would work till their last breath to fulfill the last wishes of the departed Mahant. Addressing the mourning sadhus, the acting chief of the Nyas, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das said that Paramhans always dreamt of constructing a magnificent Ram temple at the sanctum sanctorum in Ram Janmanbhoomi.
"Now it is our responsibility to fulfill the unfisnished dream of Paramhans," he said.
The condolence meeting was presided over by Mahant Madhvacharya of Ramananda sect.
The sadhus remembered Paramhas for his resolve to solve the vexed Ayodhya issue and for his equanimity at the time of crisis.
However, in a statement a member of Ram Janmabhoomi punar-udhar Samiti, Mahant Yugal Kishore Shastri, alleged that traditions were violated during last rites of Paramhans.

There has been a tradition that sadhus are given 'jal samadhi' (watery grave) but Paramhans was consigned to flames, he said in a written statement.. Bureau Report
