New Delhi, Sep 02: In a move to expose the BJP-led coalition government's "failure", an agitational programme is being planned by the Congress which could include an hour-long stoppage of rail traffic all over the country on September 22.
All India Congress Committee general secretary Oscar Fernandes said that the party has brought out a circular for the September 22 programme of "rail roko", but clarified that the exact nature of the agitation would be finlaised in the next three-four days.
While the circular said the country's entire railway lifeline should be brought to a halt for an hour, Fernandes said the agitation plan would be chalked out at a meeting of party general secretaries in the next three-four days.
Generally, a party circular outlays the final programme, but in this case the exact nature of the agitation would be decided at the meeting, he said.
The programme is being planned in the wake of the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha recently where the main opposition congress had expressed dissatisfaction over the government's response on various issues, including national security and defence preparedness.
Later, the party had announced that it would go to the people to expose the "ommissions and commissions" of the Vajpayee government.
