The Sikkim government has issued notices for three hydel power projects on the Teesta river either under private or joint sector.
State's Power Minister Hishey Lachungpa told the assembly that the department had already issued notice inviting proposals from the independent power producers for the stage III (1200 MW), stage IV (495 MW) and stage VI (360 MW) on the Teesta river. The deals were expected to be struck shortly as per the bidding rout prescribed by the union power ministry, the minister said in reply to a question of oppostion Sikkim Sangram Parishad member N K Pradhan.
Besides, four generation schemes at Rabomchu (3 MW), Mangley (1 Mw), Lachungchu (3 MW) and Purey (200 KW) with the total installed capacity of 7.20 MW were under construction under the state sector, he said.
