Dhaka, Apr 15: The company-level flag meeting between Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India ended in Panchagarh without any decision, media reports said. The meeting was held in the backdrop of mounting tension at the Majhipara border belt of Tatulia in the district following successive clashes between Indian Swatal tribals and Bangladeshi farmers.
The flag meeting, held at Indian territory near sub-pillar- 2 of the main pillar 434 on BDR request, however, helped reduce tension in the area.
On receipt of complaints from the crop owners, the Majipara BDR camp took up the matter with Nayabari BSF camp and proposed for a flag meeting to defuse the tension.
The four-member BDR team was led by Tatulia BDR camp commander Sekander Ali while BSF team was led by Nayabari BSF company commander R. S. Rosh.
BDR sources said a landmass had emerged in the border Belt.
