Thiruvananthapuram, May 09: Hindu Aikeyavedi, a platform of different hindu organisations like RSS and VHP, today demanded the state government to recommend a CBI probe into last week's violent incidents at Marad that claimed nine lives by keeping industries and Iuml leader P K Kunhalikutty out of the ministry. Briefing reporters the decisions of Aikeyavedi taken at its meeting held here yesterday, vedi convener, J Shisupalan, and Kerala Shethra Samrakhsana Samathi secretary, V K Viswanathan said hindu organisations would launch agitations including dharna and fast before Secretariate in support of its demand. The Union Minister of State for Home Affaris I D Swamy during his visit to Marad had agreed for a CBI probe if the state government made a request in this regard, they said.
They said the judicial probe ordered by the state government was 'insufficient to bring the truth behind the caranage on hindu fishermen community and as 'kunhalikutty's name has been allegedly linked with the incident he should be kept out of the cabinet till the probe is completed'. Vedi demanded the government to pay a compensation of Rs one lakh each to the victims families. Bureau Report
