Bangalore, Oct 28: India will promote aerospace products and systems including advance composite technology and software used in the indigenous light combat aircraft (LCA) at the Asian Aerospace 2004 exhibition in Singapore. Over 50 Indian firms, under the aegis of Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies and Industries (SIATI) will participate in the show from February 24 to 29 next year, SIATI President Dr C G Krishnadas Nair told reporters here today.

SIATI, he said, has over 300 industry members with core competence in manufacturing, components, composites and various other aerospace technologies and was looking at collaboration with overseas firms.

Nair said SIATI'S thrust was indigenisation of aerospace industry which has been amplified in the development of LCA and Dhruv, the indigenous advanced light helicopter.
He said SIATI was looking at demonstrating Dhruv and Saras, the 14-seater multi-role transport aircraft being built by national aerospace laboratories, a CSIR institution.
"India will project its combined aeronautical strength in aerospace research, development, manufacture and maintanence during this (Singapore) show. The purpose is not only to highlight our achievements and strength but also to invite co-production and develop global cooperation," Nair said. He said about seven Indian firms which participated in the recent Airshow at Paris have received proposals for "outsourcing" work from global aerospace firms. Bureau Report
