Kanyakumari, July 06: The RSS today refused to react to All India Muslim Personal Law Board's decision on Ayodhya issue saying it was yet to know officially the details but said it had expected the Kanchi Sankaracharya's efforts to bear results. RSS general secretary madam Dass Devi also supported VHP's demand for legislation for handing over of disputed land at Ayodhya to Hindus saying it was one of the alternatives to a solution to the vexed issue.
"We have heard about the board's decision. But we cannot comment till we officially know details of the decision," he told reporters when asked to react on AIMPLB's rejection of Sankaracharya's proposal. He, however, said RSS had expected results to Kanchi seer's efforts as the Sankaracharya himself was "hopeful".
"We respect everybody's efforts," Devi said adding the Sankaracharya was trying to resolve the dispute and RSS would welcome success in his efforts. He said "a solution to Ayodhya issue is for Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas and Muslim leaders to decide but legislation is an alternative".
He also pointed out that VHP, which had been agitating for a temple for long, should not ignored.
Devi said, "RSS does not put pressure on anybody and only expresses its opinion which is taken note of by everybody." Bureau Report
