New York, Nov 06: Three senior executives at media giant AOL Time Warner, with roots in the America Online side of the company, have left or soon plan to leave, marking the departures of some of the last AOL veterans at the top, sources familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. All three were also close to Robert Pittman, the company's former chief operating officer, who resigned in May and had once been in the running for the top job.
Executive vice-president Mayo Stuntz quit recently, while executive vice-president Kenneth Lerer has told Richard Parsons, chief executive of the parent company, he intends to pursue a career in teaching. Senior vice-president Marshall Cohen is also expected to depart, one source said.
The executives were not available for comment, and a company spokeswoman declined to comment.
The departures leave few executives in the top ranks with America Online roots. Parsons changed the executive hierarchy in July, naming former HBO head Jeff Bewkes and former Time chief Don Logan, as his top deputies.
