Raipur, Apr 23: The industrial district of Korba in Chhattisgarh is launching a pilot project "e- seva", an IT project to provide quick, transparent and efficient services of the government and "treat the citizens as valuable customers". "Korba e-seva has been initiated to treat citizens as valuable customers and make it an one stop shop payment centre of multiple counters through which services, payments of bills and taxes and other information can be obtained," Korba district collector Ishita Roy told a news agency over phone. The project has been initiated on the principle of "collect and remit" and "receive and forward" with software integrated to deliver receipts of bills of various departments such as electricity, telephone, municipality water bills, property tax and even house rent, Roy said. Stating there is also provision for railway ticket reservation, she said the Centre to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Ajit Jogi today will work seven days a week and eleven hours a day.

Initially, two lakh citizens would be benefitted from the project which would act as a single transparent interface that would be hassle and corruption free and cost saving, she said adding citizens would also be able to extract information on government schemes and projects and download various application forms.
