A day after Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee underwent left knee transplant surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, a bomb hoax call on Wednesday night kept the security forces on their toes searching the entire premises. One person identified as Ismail Kasim Sheikh had been taken into custody in this connection, a police bulletin issued on Friday said.
It said police received an anonymous call on October 11 night saying a bomb had been planted at the hospital. The authorities carried out a frantic combing operation only to find the call to be a hoax. Police traced the call to a PCO at Kandivali in north west Mumbai and arrested Sheikh in this connection, it said.
Meanwhile, security in the hospital premises has been tightened, according to sources. Bureau Report
