BJP raked up temple issue to check erosion of support: Mulayam
Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday alleged that the BJP had raked up the Ram temple issue to check erosion in its support base.
Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday alleged that the BJP had raked up the Ram temple issue to check erosion in its support base.
BJP'S political agenda is to create rift between Hindus and Muslims, thereby improving its mass support, Yadav told
News men in New Delhi after inaugurating the 'Farrukhabad Mahotsav'.
“The BJP has once again raked up the temple issue to check erosion in its base and use it to its advantage politically,” he said.
Accusing BJP of adopting double standards, Yadav said “While on one hand farmers are suffering due to lop- sided economic policies of the BJP-led government, the state government is observing 'Kisan Diwas' all over the state.
He, however, supported the Vajpayee government's view that talks with Pakistan were not possible as long as it continued to support terrorist activities in India.
Yadav also expressed concern over the security arrangements in the country. “No place in the country is safe when a high security area like the Red Fort can be attacked,” he said referring to the recent attack inside the fort by Lashkar-e-toiba militants. Bureau Report
