Recent violence brought on by protests by farmers and teachers in Bolivia has resulted in the deaths of 10 people with more than 128 injured, a human rights group has said in La Paz. The permanent assembly for human rights in Bolivia on Monday said that the latest victim is a 15-year-old boy, who was shot dead in confrontations with police in Cochabamba, in the centre of the country. Bolivia has been convulsed for more than two weeks with strikes and roadblocks organised by unions to protest the government's anti-drug programme, aimed at eradicating coca, the raw ingredient used in cocaine, and introducing alternative crops.
