A roadside bomb exploded near an Israeli military vehicle in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Army has said.

The latest attack, which came on Thursday, did not result in any casualties. On Wednesday an Israeli soldier was killed and another wounded in a similar attack near the settlement of Netzarim, south of Gaza City.
Thursday’s incident took place on a security road next to the fence between Gaza and Israel, between the Erez and Karni crossing points. Israeli soldiers searched the area. The military said that the fence was damaged. The road is used for army patrols. Israel television reported that the military believes the same attackers, members of one of the Palestinian Security Services, carried out both bombings.

Prime Minister Ehud Barak has demanded that Yasser Arafat`s Palestinian authority take more effective measures to control extremists who target Israelis.
