Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has called for expeditious clearance of pending court cases saying that delay in justice delivery system almost amounts to injustice. “Judiciary is an important pillar of democracy and there is immense need for harmonious relationship between the three organs of democratic set up - Legislature, Executive and Judiciary. Litigant public wants quick disposal of their cases,” Abdullah said while addressing a function in south Kashmir on Wednesday. Responding to the demand for strengthening judicial infrastructure, he said that allotment of funds within given resources would be made for creating infrastructural facilities. He asked the law department to work out the requirements of the judiciary that could be examined by the government. “The pendency of cases in all the courts of the state is substantially coming down as a result of proper court management,” Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court B P Saraf said.
