Deposed Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is undergoing jail sentence, and other close members of his family are likely to be allowed to leave the country in accordance with a clandestine deal reached between him and the military regime, media reports in Islamabad said on Saturday. The Sharif-military regime deal has been brokered by a friendly middle eastern country, English daily `The News` reported.
An official spokesman confirmed that the military regime has received request from Sharif, who is suffering from cardiac problem, for medical treatment. The request is still under consideration and no decision has yet been taken, The spokesman said and added that a special team of army doctors, especially despatched to the Attock Fort on Friday where Sharif is lodged, has reported that his condition is stable.
The spokesman, however, denied knowledge of any clandestine deal between the government and the Sharif family. On the other hand, sources privy to the behind the scene developments insisted that according to the deal, the Sharif family has agreed to surrender some portion of its wealth against liabilities leave Pakistan and stay away from politics for years to come, the Daily said.

It quoted the sources as saying that Sharif`s elder daughter Mariam and younger son Hassan have played a vital role in facilitating the deal. Bureau Report
