Mamata, Ajit resign over petroleum price hike
Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and Minister of State for External Affairs Ajit Kumar Panja resigned on Saturdayprotesting against the BJP government`s unilateral decision to hike the prices of petroleum products.

protesting against the BJP government`s unilateral decision to hike the prices of petroleum products.
``Despite being a partner of the NDA government we have not
been consulted regarding the price hike. This is not the first
time. Such things had happened before,`` Ms Banerjee told a crowded press conference in Calcutta.
However, the TMC will continue to extend its support to the NDA from outside.
