New Delhi: Samsung Electronics on Thursday launched a portfolio of wearables -- Gear Fit 2 (smartwatch), IconX (wireless earphones) and Gear VR (VR glasses) in India.


While the GearFit2 has been priced at Rs 13,990, the IconX will be available for Rs 13,490 and the VR glasses will be available for Rs 7,290.


The wearables will be available in the market starting September.


Talking about wearables, Samsung India Vice President Mobile Business Manu Sharma said the category has been doing phenomenally well and Samsung is working on expanding the market for these products.


"The task is to grow the market. We will continue to offer wearables with our phones to expand the ecosystem. The market is still in nascent stages," he said.


"Our wearable portfolio comprising Gear Fit2, Gear IconX and Gear VR will further strengthen Samsung`s commitment to a connected ecosystem strategy," added Manu Sharma


In other devices, Gear Fit2 is fitted with sensors like GPS, 24/7 heart rate monitor and accelerometer. It runs on Android 4.4 and comes with 1.5GB RAM. 

With Gear IconX, one can control music by simple tapping or swiping. It comes with a real time voice-based workout input feature.
