Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Police on Thursday registered a case against unknown persons for painting Pakistan flag on a street in the Anand district of the state.

In order to protest mutilation of two Indian soldiers, residents painted Pakistan flag on the road. Thy thereafter stood on the flag and raised anti-Pakistan slogans with Indian flags in their hands.


The city police registered a case against unknown residents on charges of destroying public property and painting Pakistan flag on Indian roads. The Pakistan flag on the Gujarat street was later painted white by the city police. 


An investigation is currently underway in the case.


Two Indian soldiers — Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh of 20th Sikh Regiment and Prem Sagar, Head Constable of 200th Battalion of Border Security Force– were slain by Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) after sneaking 250 metres into Indian territory in Poonch of J&K on May 1.


The incident occurred when Pakistan Army officials first violated ceasefire, thereafter crossed the line of control and mutilated the Indian jawans.
