Congress' candidate Atal Srivastava won the Kota Constituency Election 2023 with 7957 votes. BJP's Prabal Pratap Singh Judev trailled behind by 65522 votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress both showcased their prominence in the Chitrakot Constituency Election this year.


 


3:45 PM-   17/20 electoral round has begun and Atal Srivastava is so far winning the seat. 


2:51 PM-   The counting of the 14th round as begun and the Indian National Congress is leading by a massive vote count of 52478. 


12:50 PM- The results from the 8th round of voting of the Kota Constituency has been out and  Congress has turned the tables with its candidata Atal Srivastava leading with 87 votes from BJP's  Prabal Pratap Judev (28097 votes). 


12:35 AM- 8th round of voting for the Kota Constituency are going on. according to the latest electoral update, BJP is surging ahead with its candidate prabal pratap judev securing a lead with 28184 votes 


11:00 AM- kota constituency's 2nd round of voting results are out and so far  Bharatiya Janta Party's Prabal Pratap Singh Judev is leading by 1607 votes, while INC's Atal Srivastava is trailing.   


 


Primarily inhabited by tribal and OBC (Other Backward Classes) communities, Kota has a significant presence of Brahmin, Muslim, Christian, and Sahu caste individuals in its urban areas. Despite the tribal and OBC majority, electoral patterns have often favored leaders from the Brahmin or OBC backgrounds.  


Currently, the seat is held by Dr. Renu Jogi, the wife of the late Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Ajit Jogi. She has successfully won elections multiple times in this constituency. The economy of Kota is largely dependent on agriculture, with 80% of the population engaged in farming. Additionally, the local coal mines, power plants, and rice mills provide significant employment opportunities. The abundant forests also contribute to the livelihoods of the people through forest produce.
