Two coaches of passenger train derail in Agra, no casualties
The train operations were not affected by the derailment.
New Delhi: Two coaches of Agra-Gwalior passenger train derailed near Agra Cantt. on Saturday.
As per the reports, the train was moving to the yard for cleaning when the derailment took place around 4 AM. Railway officials confirmed that no one was injured in the accident.
Talking to PTI, officials said that train operations were not affected by the derailment.
Meanwhile, there have been a series of derailments in the past few weeks. On August 20, 14 coaches of the high-speed Kalinga-Utkal Puri Haridwar Express had derailed in Muzaffarnagar, killing at least 23 people and leaving scores injured.
Earlier on September 08, three train derailments in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi rocked the Railways within a span of 12 hours, days after new Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took charge, leading him to order an immediate review of safety standards.
Following three train derailments, the Opposition slammed the Narendra Modi government, saying it should be renamed the "derailment sarkar".
