Gulbarga is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. Voting for Lok Sabha election in Karnataka was held in two phases on April 18 and April 23. Gulbarga went to polls on April 23 and counting will be held on May 23.

Gulbarga registered 60.89 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 2.99 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1945291 while the total voter turnout is 1184525. While in 2014, the constituency registered 57.90 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1721666 while the total voter's turnout was 996848.

The seat has been a Congress stronghold. Apart from the 1996 and 1998 election, the Congress has won this seat in all parliamentary elections so far.


In the 2014 election too, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge won by a margin of 74,733 votes defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Revunaik Belamagi who bagged 4,32,460 votes.
