BS Yediyurappa takes oath as 19th Chief Minister of Karnataka
BJP Karnataka president BS Yediyurappa reaches Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru.
BS Yediyurappa will oath as 19th Chief Minister of Karnataka shortly.
BS Yeddyurappa changes his name back to Yediyurappa. The 75-year-old had changed the spelling of his name in 2007 for good luck.
He reportedly reverted to his previous name six months ago.
"As instructed by our National President Shri @AmitShah ji and working president of BJP Shri @JPNadda ji, I have met his Excellency Governor of Karnataka to stake claim to form government. I will take oath as CM of Karnataka today at 6 pm," tweets Yediyurappa.
Congress attacks Yeddyurappa.
"Corruption Icon and Former Jail Bird Shri @BSYBJP has used his excellent Horse Trading skills to subvert democracy and come to power. People of Karnataka remember his disastrous tenure as CM between 2008-2011, which ended with BSY in Jail. History is all set to repeat again," tweets Congress.

BJP cannot stake claim to form government or take oath as it does not have the numbers, said Karnataka Congress in a tweet. BJP and BS Yeddyurappa should have a clear understanding of the constitution, it added.
Letter submitted by BS Yeddyurappa to Governor:
The Lingayat strongman met the Governor around 10 am on Friday. "I met governor to form the Government and take oath as CM. Governor has agreed and given letter. I will take oath as CM between 6 to 6:15 pm today," he said.

BJP Karnataka chief BS Yediyurappa will take oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka for the fourth time at 6 pm on Friday evening. The development comes three days after the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government failed a trust vote in the state Assembly. The floor test will be held on July 31.
Yediyurappa will become the 19th chief minister of Karnataka.
