Sukma: Three Maoists were gunned down by the security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Tuesday.

The gun battle ensued when a group of armed rebels opened indiscriminate fire on a joint team of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), Special Task Force (STF) and the state's District Reserve Group (DRG), who were conducting anti-Maoist operation in the region.


Security forces retaliated and the gunfight lasted for around two hours. The Police have recovered bodies of three Maoists from the spot.


They have also seized two rifles from the spot.
