A piece of footwear was hurled at Jain while he was standing outside the Income tax office today. However, the slipper only hit the vehicle in which he and senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh were travelling.

The accused, Bhavana Arora, said she belonged to the Aam Aadmi Sena, and claimed she was upset by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal's remarks on India's anti-terror strikes across the Line of Control (LoC).

"How could the Aam Aadmi Party demand proof of strikes by the Indian Army? They are behaving like Pakistani agents," she said.

This is not the first time that Arora had made headlines for attacking the AAP minister. In January this year, she threw ink on Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal while he delivered a speech at a public meeting.

Volunteers of the Aam Aami Sena also raised slogans and protested outside the Income Tax Headquarters in Delhi where Jain was to arrive for questioning.

Jain had been summoned by the Income Tax department as a witness in connection to an ongoing investigation against several Kolkata firms.
