Watch: ILO Director-General calls for improved conditions for water workers
ILO Director-General and Chair of UN-Water, highlights the situation of the some 1.5 billion people who work in water, many of whom are not recognized for the work they do, or protected by basic labour rights.
New Delhi: According to the United Nations, 783 million people around the world still lack access to clean water. And millions who work in water related industries do not have their rights protected.
In his message for World Water Day, which is being held on March 22, annually, Guy Ryder, ILO Director-General and Chair of UN-Water, highlights the situation of those people whose rights have not been protected.
