"Twelve MLAs from the Opposition have given a notice of no-confidence against the council of ministers and the Chief Minister to the Speaker. Ideally, we would have liked to have filed a no-confidence motion against the Speaker himself because of his bias against us, but that would require a 14-day notice. We do not have that much time," Independent legislator Vijai Sardesai said.

Leader of Opposition Pratapsing Rane also said that Shet was not fair in his treatment of the Opposition legislators.

"It is far from fair. Everyone can see it for themselves," Rane told reporters during a news briefing at the legislative assembly complex.

The Goa assembly constitutes of 40 members, of whom 26 belong to the treasury benches, headed by a Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition.
