Ahmedabad civic polls: BJP wins 143 seats, Congress trails
Gujarat civic elections was seen as a challenge for the BJP and Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, as they come after the Patel quota stir.
Ahmedabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 143 seats followed by Congress in Ahmedabad civic election results 2015.
In the 192 councillor seats, BJP has won the majority with 143 seats.
Ahmedabad Mayor Meenakshiben Patel has also won.
Counting of votes for the crucial local bodies polls in Gujarat, a litmus test for the ruling BJP against the backdrop of Patel quota agitation, was held on Wednesday.

Voting for six municipal corporations was held in November.
The six municipal corporations registered only 45 percent voter turnout, but elsewhere it was over 60 percent.
