Jind: Alleging that the Haryana government was "not serious" about Jat reservation, the Sarva Jatiya Khap Monday said it will organise a "maha-rally" here on the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh on December 23.

The group's spokesperson, Sube Singh Samain, also said that a decision on whether to organise a 'Delhi gherao' in February to press the demand will be taken the at "maha-rally", which will be organised at the HUDA ground here.


The "maha-rally" decision was taken today at a meeting attended by representatives of about two dozen khaps and chaired by the Sarva Jatiya Khap's national president, Nafe Singh.


Samain said that the various khaps would be invited for the rally and added that the Satrol Khap and Saharan Khap would organise their own rally at Narnaund (October 25) and Kalayat (November 10), respectively, in the run up to the "maha-rally".


Meanwhile, Adarsh Jat Mahasabha's national president, Pawanjit Banwala, said they have nothing to do with the "maha-rally" planned on December 23.


The Mahasabha has already announced a 'Jat Lalkar Rally' at Bahadurgarh on November 8, Banwala said.
