Vijayawada (AP): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today proposed to set up 100 health care ATMs in the state on a pilot basis to supply medicines to people at reasonable rates.

Naidu said this during a review of the health department on various issues of health sector here today.


Based on the response to the ATMs under the pilot project, more such units would be set up across the state, Naidu said.


The Chief Minister also proposed to utilize the health care equipment in government hospitals by private medical practitioners by paying some fees and the revenue from such services can be utilized to add medical devices in those hospitals, an official press release said.


"All government hospitals should be provided grading and accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers," he was quoted as saying.


Doctor Kamineni Srinivas, Minister for Health and Family Welfare also present at the meeting.
