New Delhi: Cervical cancer is fast turning out to be a big reason for death among Indian women.


Informing the Lok Sabha on Friday, Health Minister JP Nadda said, “the estimated number of deaths due to cervical cancer accounts for 24 percent of all anatomical sites of cancer in women in India. This is the largest proportion among all cancers in women in India."


He  also added that 62,416 women died of the disease in 2015-16 and in 2012, the number increased to 1.3 lakh.
