New Delhi: A court on Friday granted bail to AAP legislator Akhilesh Tripathi, who was remanded in judicial custody a day earlier over a 2013 rioting case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Kumar granted the bail to Tripathi, who represents Model Town constituency in the Delhi assembly, on a personal bond of Rs.10,000.


The Aam Aadmi Party legislator had been sent to two days' judicial custody in a case of rioting lodged against him.


According to court sources, a non-bailable warrant was issued against the legislator on Tuesday for not appearing before the court on the date fixed for hearing.
