Bypoll results: BJP wins in Muzaffarnagar, Congress in Deoband; SP suffers setback

The Bharatiya Janata Party wrested the Muzaffarnagar seat from the ruling Samajwadi Party, which also lost the Deoband seat to the Congress.
BJP candidate Narayan Tripathi is leading by 10,892 votes over his nearest Congress rival Manish Patel in Maihar Assembly by-poll in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district, the counting for which is underway.
BJP wins in Deodurg (Karnataka).
Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kapil Dev Agrawal wins by-election in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district.
Ruling CPI-M wins the Birganj Assembly by-election in Tripura's Gomati district, with party candidate Parimal Debnath trouncing his nearest rival BJP candidate by a margin of 10,597 votes.
Samajwadi Party's Anand Sen Yadav wins Bikapur (Faizabad) seat.
Harlakhi (Bihar) by-election counting: NDA candidate wins by around 18,000 votes.
Congress candidate Mavia Ali wins Deoband (Uttar Pradeh) by-election by 3,400 votes.
Shiv Sena candidate Amit Ghoda wins Palghar (Maharashtra) bypoll, defeating Congress nominee Rajendra Gavit by around 19,000 votes.
Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal wins the by-poll to Khadoor Sahib Assembly seat, with party candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura defeating his nearest rival Independent candidate Bhupinder Singh by a margin of 65,664 votes.
Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) bags Narayankhed Assembly seat as its candidate Bhupal Reddy wins with a margin of 53,625 votes.
