New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Thursday, said that India strongly condemns cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

Making a statement in the Rajya Sabha on the capture of a Pakistani terrorist in Udhampur yesterday, Singh said that two BSF jawans were killed in the encounter while 14 other s were injured


Saluting the bravery of the martyred soldiers Rockey of Yamunangar in Haryana and Shubhendu Rai of Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, the Home Minister said that the government will honour them gallantry awards.


Singh said that of the two terrorists one was slain during the operation and other captured.


Rajnath Singh added that the Centre will request the state government to honour the locals who played a key role in the capture of Naved alias Usman.


“The captured terrorist has identified himself as Mohammad Naved alias Usman, a resident of Faislabad in Pakistan. He has also identified the slain terrorist as Mohammad Noman from Bahawalpur,” Singh said.


Naved is currently in Jammu and is being interrogated by security agencies.


Two AK-47s and grenades were recovered from the terrorists.
