Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “We want the government and Defence Minister to clarify whether they are buying 126 Rafale aircraft or not? Will MMRC aircraft ever be manufactured in India? What will happen to Make in India? The cruel joke on the nation is that we will buy aircraft but not Make in India.”

He further added, “Will India only manufacture and use LCA (Light Combat Aircraft)? How do you not need Rafale aircraft when your own Air Chief is demanding for more? Whether Rafale ever be manufactured in India? If yes, then will HAL manufacture it or any other private company? The original plan was to get 18 Rafale in fly away condition and 108 to manufacture in India.”

While taking swipe at BJP over Ram Mandir and Article 370 agenda, Singhvi said that the party only remembers Lord Ram every five years and one or two months before elections.

“The greatest hypocrisy and selective amnesia is being shown by the BJP on Ram Mandir and Article 370,” he added.
