Rashid, an Independent legislator from Langate, was attacked in Bhaderwah town in Kishtwar.

"Miscreants smashed the window panes of Engineer Rashid's vehicle at Dumail (Bhaderwah) today (on Wednesday). They also threw black ink at the MLA and his PRO Inam ul Nabi," a senior police officer said, adding Rashid and Nabi "suffered minor injuries in the attack".

Police have registered a case over the incident.

Engineer Rashid had stirred up a controversy earlier this year when he held a beef party inside the legislators' hostel in Srinagar. He was later thrashed by BJP members inside the state assembly which was in session at that time.
