Minor gang-raped by three youths in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: A 14-year-old minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youths at Ambeta village here, police said on Friday.

The victim, who along with her family was rehabilitated here after 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, had gone to collect grass from the fields along with her brother when Zulfam, son of former village head along with two unidentified youths allegedly gang-raped her, Circle officer NP Singh said.

When the victim's family protested against the act, they were beaten up by the accused, he said.

Later, the victim's brother filed a complaint after which an FIR was registered under sections 323 (assault) and 376 (rape) of the IPC against the trio.

The victim was sent for medical examination. No arrests have being made so far, police said, adding that investigations are underway.
