Political strategist Prashant Kishor, who has been roped in by Congress for 2017 UP polls, may ask the party's top brass to project Rahul Gandhi's sister Priyanka Gandhi as the party's chief ministerial candidate, according to a report in The Economic Times.


Prashant Kishor, the star poll strategist known for designing campaign for Narendra Modi in 2014 Lok Sabha polls and steering Nitish Kumar to Bihar CM's chair, will steer the Congress campaign for the upcoming UP polls. 


Reportedly, Congress decided to rope in Prashant Kishor after party vice-president Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with him to discuss UP polls. Kishor will directly report to Rahul Gandhi.


Congress, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, had won only two of out of 80 seats in UP. In 403-member UP legislative assmebly, Congress has only 29 MLAs.
