New Delhi: VHP leader Ashok Singhal, who is undergoing treatment in a Gurgaon hospital after he was admitted there in early hours of Saturday with complaints of acute breathlessness continues to be in a serious condition and is on life support system.

"He is presently in the Intensive Care Unit under treatment of a team of specialists comprising of Critical Care, Respiratory, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology and Nephrology. His condition continues to be serious and he is on life support system," Medical Superintendent of Medanta Dr AK Dubey said in a statement.


89-year-old Singhal was admitted on November 14 to Medanta with complaints of acute breathlessness and has been diagnosed with right lower Lobe Pneumonia. He has been on a ventilator from November 14 evening.


A number of BJP and VHP leaders have visited the ailing leader in the hospital.
