The Betadur village in Karnataka's Dharwad district is celebrating their brave son's miraculous escape from the icy slopes of Siachen.


One of Hanumanthappa's relative said, “We are all very happy, God has helped us. He is named after Hanuman , he trumped death.”


“He is Pawan Putra Hanuman and we know he will survive,” he added.


The entire village has joined Hanumanthappa's 62-year-old mother Basamma, his wife Mahadevi and his 1-and-a-half-year-old daughter in praying that he pulls he pulls through in the battle for life.


A report said that Hanumanthappa's mother and wife are waiting for the government to help them in the transport to Delhi where Hanumanthappa is being admitted in a critical condition.
