Honouring fathers, Google has dedicated this doodle to fathers of all species, including a male penguin, a male fox, a cat, and a man with their offspring.

The animate doodle features the letters forming the word Google. The second 'O' changes to portray four different fathers in their caregiving roles. These include a male penguin with its egg, a male fox, cat with its litter, and finally a man with his son. When you move the mouse over the doodle ‘Happy Father’s Day’ message pops up and you can also share the adorable doodle on social networking sites.

Today’s doodle bears striking resemblance to the one published by Google on Mothers’ Day in May which celebrated every mom on earth by tying together a variety of motherly concepts, including those of animals, birds, and humans.

The first celebration of Father's Day is widely believed to have been on 5 July, 1908 in West Virginia. It was celebration in honour of the men killed in the Monongah Mining Disaster in December 1907.
