Chandigarh: A teenager has been booked here for allegedly abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her. The 18-year-old accused, a labourer, took the girl to Delhi where he raped her, Ropar SSP Inder Mohan Singh said today.
Girl`s father had lodged a complaint with the Ropar police about the abduction of her daughter a couple of days back, following which a search was launched, he said.
The accused was arrested in Ropar last night when he returned back from Delhi with the victim, he said. "The girl`s medical examination has confirmed sexual assault. We have booked the boy for kidnapping, rape and other charges," Singh said.
