The Department of Expenditure within the Finance Ministry has modified the HRA regulations for central government employees. Some central government employees would no longer be qualified for HRA, according to the most recent update. Continue reading to find out in which cases the government employees will not receive Housing Rent Allowance (HRA).

As per the amended HRA rules, he or she lives with another government worker in housing supplied by the government.

He or she resides in housing that is supplied by the federal, state, or an autonomous public undertaking or semi-government organisation like a municipality, port trust, nationalised banks, Life Insurance Corporation of India, and so forth.

Whether the central government employee lives in that housing or separately in housing that he or she rents, the central government, state government, autonomous public undertaking, or semi-government organisation has allotted housing at the same station.
