Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman wears rusty brown saree for her fourth budget presentation

Because of Covid limitations, there was no traditional "halwa ritual" this year, in which the Finance Minister and others eat halwa the day before the Budget.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, will present Budget 2022 in a paperless style, like she did last year. She was observed carrying a tablet in a crimson sleeve with the national insignia engraved on it this morning.

In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, she chose to carry the documents in a tablet encased in a red-colored cover with the national insignia embossed on it, rather than her characteristic 'bahi khata.'

She accessorised her look with a white shawl and a white face mask. A red bindi and small earings completed Sitharaman's ensemble, which complemented her golden chain and bangles.

Her saree's rusty brown tone was a blend of two colours, brown and red, that have deeper meaning. While brown is frequently connected with dependability, security, and safety, red is associated with warmth, love, and power.
