1. Golden Temple, Amritsar
Built in 1577, the temple's dome is gilded with 750 kg of pure 24-karat gold. The doors of the temple are also covered with golden foil. The temple has been renovated multiple times over the years, with each renovation adding more gold.
2. Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple, Vellore
The Mahalaxmi or Laxmi Narayan temple has a gold covering of 1500 kg. Gold bars have been converted into gold foils and then mounted on copper plates.
3. Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi
The temple has three domes made of pure gold that were donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1835. The inner walls of the sanctum sanctorum are also covered with gold.
