Modi 3.0 Cabinet 2024: Meet Seven Women Ministers Who Took Oath On June 9

The President of India Droupadi Murmu administered oath of office to 72 leaders from the National Democratic Alliance led by the BJP. This included Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 30 cabinet ministers, 36 MoS, 5 MoS (independent charge). "The President of India has appointed Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi as the Prime Minister of India. Further, as advised by the Prime Minister, the President has appointed the following as members of the Council of Ministers," said an official statement from the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Of the 72 ministers, there are seven women:

She began her career as a coordinator in an NGO. Although her name includes "Thakur," she is originally from a tribal community. Savitri has completed her education up to the 10th grade.

On Sunday, she was sworn in as a Union Minister in the Narendra Modi Cabinet 3.0. Before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won the Koderma seat by a significant margin. Despite her past association with the RJD, her swift rise within the BJP highlights her growing influence among the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Jharkhand. Annapurna holds a master’s degree from Ranchi University. Her political career began with a victory in a state assembly by-poll in 1998, leading to her becoming a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Nimuben Bambhaniya, one of three female BJP candidates to win the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat, has been appointed as a Minister of State in the Union cabinet. The 57-year-old won the Bhavnagar constituency by a margin of 4.55 lakh votes against AAP's Umesh Makwana. She previously served as Bhavnagar's mayor for two terms and was vice president of the BJP Mahila Morcha's state unit from 2013 to 2021.
